DSDH F16 | Power Tools
A 4 day design course centered around power tools with focus on the design process.
In the fall 2016 we were hired as guest teachers at Den Skandinaviske Designhøjskole. We had 4 days with the students from the furniture/room/product design line. We made them a tight schedule to let them experience as many faces of the design process as possible.
The task was to design a power tool in four days. Students had to do a quick brainstorm of different objects they could make into a power tool. After this they had to create a persona to help define the context and shape of their design concept.
They also had to sketch and build quick mockups to explore different design possibilities.
In the end they had to do a painted foam prototype of their finished design along with a marker rendering and a short description about their product.
This project was created in collaboration with Esben Lyhne and UrbanBear Studio.
